I have been treating the symptoms of PCOS for the last 3 months through natural means with herbs, diet and exercise and the results are amazing!! I didn’t know I had PCOS until I stopped taking birth control at 19. That’s when I started to get all the symptoms but didn’t treat it for almost 6 years so it got really bad.

Well, I can honestly say these 3 months I have made a tremendous turn around and I feel great! Every day, I take a combo of herbal supplements that include Vitex and milk thistle along with an herbal tea of red raspberry leaf, spearmint and cinnamon. Those are hormone balancing herbs. I also take multi-vitamins and krill oil.

I am also taking saw palmetto, pygeum & nettles for my hair. I was losing an alarming amount of hair and since I have been taking it I have not been losing as much hair and am even noticing new growth up by my hair line. The combo of these herbs are DHT-blocking and DHT is what makes the body hair grow and your hair fall out.

I haven’t noticed my unwanted facial and body hair slowing yet but I heard that takes a few more months to notice.

My other best friend in treating PCOS is a progesterone cream I apply 2 times a day for about 3 weeks a month. Though not completely natural, it really helps with the moodiness and the stomach bloat from the unbalanced hormones.

And finally diet & exercise. I eat a low carb diet, in take as much fresh fruits and veggies as I can and cut out almost all sugar and exercise for about a half hour a day. In my first month of doing all of this I lost 13 pounds and almost 2 inches off my hips. My stomach was flatter, my acne was clearing up and I feel great! I am less anxious and moody, all thanks to a few herbs!

I strongly encourage any woman with PCOS that’s on birth control to stop taking it and start treating your PCOS the natural way because pumping your body full of synthetic hormones may make the condition worse. Also this is a wonderful PCOS article on Yahoo where I got a lot of information from to try on my own. It helped me out a great deal and hopefully someone else will benefit from it.

Please feel free to leave comments or ask questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!!
